You Love Your Kids Unconditionally
I believe that all kids are worthy of our respect, trust, honesty.
Without having to earn it.
Yes, even two year olds.
This is the foundational principle in the Collaborative Parenting Methodology(TM) I used to raise my kids and teach my students.
Nurturing human connection between adults and kids is the key to raising successful people.
It's one of the reasons that I was invited to the Council for Exceptional Children's conference to present on crafting meaningful, trauma-informed conversations with kids.
While there I met Nicole Greene who, ironically, is wearing a green dress and, through her presentation, she introduced me to the concept of Unconditional Positive Regard.
HOW had I never heard of it before?
Knowing there is a body of research and a community of people who LIVE by these moral, human codes excited me.
